None of my Business S5:E1 Matt Pipkin

Welcome to Season 5 people!!! To kick off this season I have brought on Matt Pipkin who has an important journey to share. He founded Speak Your Silence in 2012.

Matt recognizing the magnitude with the problem of sexual abuse and the deep role it plays in so many other social issues. He became frustrated that so few innovative and scalable solutions existed. He believed that creative ideas and a warm approach were needed in order to shift the cultural dialogue. When people feel safe and at ease, they share their stories and come together to solve big problems.

Matt’s journey in building this business is riddled with successes, risks, and a plan to fly a plane for 65 days without landing. I’m not kidding.

One of my favorite parts of his story is when he was just getting started, he thought it would be wise to get council from someone who had run a successful non profit in the past. This is never a bad idea and many of my guests have stood on the shoulders of giants. One of Matt’s first calls, was to Susan G. Koman. Go big or go home right? And it worked. You’ll have to hear him tell the story.

Matt JUST launched a company called Wevow. WeVow is strategically partnered with San Diego-based brand development and design consultancy, BLVR, and Boise-based behavioral health and managed services company, BPA Health, to equip organizations of all sizes to build cultures of safety, trust and zero-tolerance for sexual misconduct, while offering resources and support for their employees to thrive and be effective in life and at work.

EMPOWER employees with resources on sexual misconduct and the tools they need to report any incidents and get the help they need.

LISTEN and take appropriate action to remedy incidents that occur in the workplace, and to prevent them in the future.
