I had the opportunity to sit down with Dorthy Miller who owns a wonderful flower shop in Eagle, ID named Hope Blooms. I have known Dorothy for about 8 years now and we are big supporters of each others businesses.
Dorothy has some insight on a few things that I haven’t had the opportunity to touch on with the show yet. She started her business as a partnership, and partnerships can be tricky. We talk about the highs and lows of what that experience was like for her.
When the partnership ended, Hope Blooms was born and it became a true family owned business. Her daughters have worked with her since they were younger and still do to this day. There are definitely challenges that come with that dynamic as well, and it was interesting to hear them first hand.
We also talk about marketing and competition. Both of these have changed quite a bit over the years and we talk about how her business has pivoted to respond.
A big thanks to Dorothy for coming in and sharing some valuable time with me to share her story. Please see the links below for ways to contact her, support her, or follow her business.
