None of my Business - Brooke Lacey S7:E10

I had a very fun, honest and real conversation with my new friend Brooke Lacey. Brooke is a serial entrepreneur, fellow podcaster, and a fellow Chicagoan! She was a great interview for many reasons. She has a a lot of experience running a business. Podcast hosts make for great people to interview because it’s fun to be on the other side of the microphone for a change.

Brooke Lacey is the owner, Principal Web Developer and Marketing Technologist at Jayla Digital, a web technology business focused on bringing a comprehensive approach to digital marketing. After moving to Boise in 2004 and working in corporate IT, Brooke opened Tech Savvy, LLC, the only woman-owned and operated computer repair business in the Pacific Northwest. In 2017 she transitioned the business into software and web development, preferring to work with women-owned, veteran-owned and socially-conscious startups.

Brooke has known great professional success and a copious amount of failure along the way. She likes to talk about both as the same, because of the learning opportunities each provides. She is passionate about helping other entrepreneurs find those great professional successes themselves while teaching about what has helped her overcome crippling mental health issues along the way. In the spring of 2019, Brooke began a podcast documenting her path of living successfully with mental health issues, which immediately received global attention and became a full-on side business and now she has gone on to teach with her course, Podcasting Basics.
