None of my Business S6:E3- Dr. Clay and Megan Ramos

On this episode I welcome on Dr. Clay and Megan Ramos. They own and operate Foundation Chiropractic in Meridian Idaho. I always enjoy having a husband and wife team on as it is a unique and challenging endeavor to run a business together.

Dr. Clay discovered that he wanted to be a chiropractor after being injured playing college football for Weber State. Upon discovering this, they moved to Davenport Iowa, the Mecca where chiropractic was started. The program was a little over 3 years long and we discuss what it was like going through that.

They came across a very important resource during this time. An organization called AMP. AMP is a program to help chiropractors go from student to full blown business owners. It proved to be an invaluable resource for them and they are still connected today.

We talk about their decision to open their own location verses working in an existing location and how they decided to make their home here in Idaho.

Opening a business is a LOT of work. We discuss everything they had to do to get ready. Everything from finding a space, doing a buildout, furnishing it with the proper equipment and more. What is crucial during this time before opening is marketing. They did a great job marketing their new business for 4-5 months before opening their doors.

What they did really worked because they were packed their first week. We go on to discuss what their first year has been like. The first year of running your own business is a roller coaster. It is full of highs and lows. It is full of small victories and unforeseen defeats.

We then go on to discuss what it is like to be a patient at Foundation Chiropractor and how they set themselves apart.
