None of my Business S6:E6- Brent Oetken

On this episode I have Brent Oetken, owner of Profit Creek. Brent is an Idaho guy who grew up in Council ID and moved up to Coeure D’alane when he was in 8th grade. He is a graduate of BSU where he studied Business.

He comes from an entrepreneurial family which is where his passion for the small business owner started growing roots. Brent’s title is Business Implementor. He has always been fascinated with business and recently found a path to help business owners streamline their operations.

Brent’s passion is to see business owners get what they REALLY want from their business. He loves giving entrepreneurs the control and freedom they so desperately desire. Brent loves making business fun, manageable and rewarding for the owners and the entire organization.

He accomplishes this by working with leadership teams of small to mid-size businesses to implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®) into their business. Brent gives them the tools, accountability, support, and processes necessary for them to actually achieve their vision in the real world – no theory or flavor of the month management concepts. The method he uses is simple yet powerfully effective and has been proven through thousands of successful implementations around the world.

The basis of this system is taken from a book called Traction, which is written by Gino Wickman. It teaches processes on how to run a business in a highly purposeful fashion. There are really 3 pillars in this system. You will learn Vision, Traction and how to remain Healthy.

It’s important but challenging to work on things that are urgent instead of important. If you let it, a sense of urgency can be overwhelming and it can feel like that’s all you’re handling. We discuss how business owners can differentiate between the two.

We talk more about what he can do to help you in your business. Brent tells us the difference between what he does and a traditional business coach does. Brent really gives us a lot to think about when it comes to running our businesses.

Running a business can get so complicated and frustrating but it doesn’t have to be that way. Brent helps people simplify the complexity so they can get what they really want from their business.
