On this episode, I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Lana Roth, founder of Banana Ink right here in Boise. Banana ink is a highly creative Idaho-based apparel shop. Lana’s type of journey to entrepreneurship is my favorite kind. It’s essentially, “I have an idea. I am going to try it on a very small scale (like a street fair). If it goes well (which it does) I will figure out what to do next”.
She now has two locations and has grown her business year over year for almost a decade. There are so many, “what do I do next?” moments in her story, that you can’t help but root for her to figure it out while you are listening. The thing is, this type of journey is both common and uncommon at the same time.
The ones who survive, all have to go through these growing pains. The ones who don’t survive, first of all, outnumber the ones who survive by 8x. Second of all, are the ones that generally couldn’t figure these things out. Lana figured them out. She is continuing to create, to grow her brand, and is branching out in new directions.
Thank you so much Lana for coming on and sharing your story!
