My guest this week is the founder and owner of Bluebridge Consulting Group, Stephen Robertson. Stephen and I covered a lot of ground in this conversation so get ready. He has a law degree, a PHD in educational leadership and his skillset was forged with over 20 years in the business world.
After working for a law firm for a short period of time, his learned his heart was with helping people learn and build their leadership skills, so he made the jump to a position at HP. This is where he would stay for about 18 years.
He started as a senior attorney and worked in that role for 8 years. He worked heavily on negotiations and we spend some time chatting about that. Negotiations are something that is a part of our everyday life and it’s a skill that can be learned and then honed.
After that, he was given the opportunity to walk into his dream job which involved training and leading large teams inside of HP. It is here he spent the next 9 years, building an important program from the ground up. We discuss what that time was like, what he learned and how he helped the company.
After all of this experience, he decided to take what he has learned and share it with the world. He made the jump to start his own consulting company. We talk about what decision was like and the important support that he got from his wife Susan.
We discuss something that he calls the 5 C’s which is a great foundation for successful leadership and you will have to listen to hear what they are and how they work . My thanks goes to Stephen for coming in and being generous with his busy schedule and bringing so much value to the show.
