This week on the show I have the founder and owner of Jump Time, Chad Babcock. Chad is the creator of one of the first trampoline parks in the world, right here in Idaho. Chad was born in a small town in Minnesota and moved to Boise when he was a young boy. After he graduated from High School, he earned a gymnastic scholarship to my favorite college of all time, Western Michigan University (my alma matter).
He studied to be an elementary teacher but did not immediately become a teacher. He actually took interest in aerial skiing and went to train in Lake Placid. From there he went on tour and saw the world while performing in a Ski Show called the Max Air Snow Fliers.
This eventually ran it’s course after two years and he moved back to the Boise Area and bought a Tumble Bus. This was beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. He explains how he bought a bus and learned the business. The Tumble Bus business turned out to quite fruitful and by the end he had 5 busses (3 in the field and 2 for backup).
After awhile, he came across an opportunity to purchase some equipment for one of the busses and it turns out it, the equipment came with free office space! Next they opened a physical location and turned it into a thriving tumbling business for young families.
During his travels, he came across a trampoline park in Colorado and he realized it was the perfect combination of his passions. Jump Time was born in 2010 and it was one of the first 30 trampoline parks in the country. We discuss what is like being the part of a brand new industry. Very few people are truly trailblazers in an entire industry and Chad has a very unique point of view.
My thanks to Chad for coming on and sharing his amazing story. Here are some links so you can reach out to Chad and support his business.
