None of my Business S3:E6 Brent Haynes

This episode I have the pleasure of speaking with a Meridian Business of the year recipient, Brent Haynes. He and his wife Angie own and operate Freedommaid. They run a really tight operation with some exciting things coming in the near future.

Brent is one of the best I have seen when it comes to preparation. He really does his due diligence before making an important decision. For example before they opened their doors he wanted to see what his competition would be like. He called 20 residential cleaning companies to give him bids to clean his house. What did he learn doing that? Only 3 showed up! He knew that if he showed up, he had the potential to do better than 85% of his competition.

They are on the cusp of franchising and it has been awhile since I have had someone on to speak about that experience. It is interesting to hear what is involved with that and again, he has done a lot of research and met with a lot of people so his experience is already invaluable.

We also talk about what it is like running a business with a spouse. This is something that can sound great on the surface but it can also add another layer to a marriage. They have navigated it beautifully and put some things in place to remain successful at work and at home. For example always having a break planned so they have something to look forward to. Very smart.
