None of my Business S5:E4- Jim Escobar

This week on the podcast I have Jim Escobar, founder and owner of Neudesign Architecture.  There was a lot that Jim brought to the show that I found fascinating.  For starters, he knew what he wanted to do when he was 7 years old.  SEVEN!  When I was 7, I couldn’t decide what Hot Wheels car I wanted.  He really enjoyed being able to take an idea and turn it into something tangible.

When Jim was in High School, he had taken all of the drafting/architecture classes available but wanted to learn more.  So the school actually put together a program for him which led to Jim placing first in the region and placing second in a nationwide design competition.

Jim was designing homes for people when he was 18 years old and formally studied his craft at the University of Idaho.  From there he worked a job at a firm until he was ready to break out on his own and started Neudesign.

He remains ahead of the curve in his industry by taking calculated risks.  He on-boarded a new challenging design software before it became the gold standard for his industry.  Most recently, has discovered how modular design is the future of his industry and invested heavily into becoming the expert in it.

The last thing I can say about Jim is he just a great guy to be around.  His energy is upbeat, his attitude is positive and he’s always trying to improve.  You can see why his business has been voted one of the best places to work in the Idaho and he was voted one of Idaho Business Review’s Top 40 business professionals in the state of Idaho under the age of 40.
